Well it did rain properly last night. The wind settled late evening so the rain came straight down and has reached all areas and I've been out emptying trays and dishes so that seedlings and pot plants can drain. Some of the tree and shrub branches are bowed down with the weight of water on them but now the sun is beginning to break through they'll gradually get up again. Hope to get the last of my veg plants in the ground - the combination of damp and warmth should make for quick establishment, especially of the tomatoes. If the breeze stays light and the sun gets out then the next couple of days could be rather sticky-feeling.

Looks like were in for a dull damp one today. Wasn’t going anywhere further than the village and anyway there is much work to do indoors - late Spring clearing!

Beautiful here - hardly a cloud in the sky with a nice breeze 17-20C.

At a max of 21 C just right for a 12-mile ride out to the edges of the countryside this morning, and a spot of sunbathing this afternoon.

A very good afternoon outside, at a friend’s garden, yesterday. A bit windy at times, though. I think it’s going to another fine day today, as well.

              Another below par day awaits!

A nice 4-mile walk this afternoon to help recovery from yesterday's 12-mile cycle ride to the fringes of the countryside. Pretty much three quarters cloudy all day here - none of the showers threatened to materalise, so far, but quite high humidity and very little wind is making this a very stuffy sort of day, temperature low 20s.

Yes, no sign of showers yet, but the same was true of yesterday, when there were even reports of a couple of tornadoes in S Wales and the West Country. This week that old NW poor/SE fine division seems to be back in operation, but nothing extreme on the horizon.

No tornadoes here but a great noise around 9.30 last evening with the fly over of Marine 1 and 2 plus three Ospreys!

.. which will justify my opting for short trousers.
