The raindrops have been removed and the 40% chance of rain this afternoon has in the past couple of hours been downgraded to 20% at most - so nowt. Chances of temperature hitting even 10 degrees look slim at best as well. Oh well at least I won't have to try and get a waterproof over multiple staying warm layers at work today...

Surprised to see Oddy's diminished expectation of rain today, given that the main area of convective generation is over the N Sea, and expected to be borne inland on the albeit light north wind. Here cloud is bubbling up, as yesterday, however a cap prevented anything more than one or two big raindrops around midday. Thunder has nevertheless been reported in the past hour west of the Gower peninsular.
April minima at 2 C were a couple of degrees below mean - for the second time this year, the first being January. Average nighttime minima were actually colder this month than February or March!
Monday is expected to revert to a strong westerly type, and with the Greenland high remaining strongly in situ pushing the jet stream well to our south, deepening depressions are expected to traverse the middle of the country for much of next week, starting on that day - the second BH to be wrecked by bad weather in a row.

Today is a lovely sunny day - outdoor singing practice in the garden this afternoon for our group of five.
