Well..............almost complete whiteout up here!!!!!!! Mist? Fog? Hefty NE chilly streams hitting warmer ones and bringing in filth as a prelude......?

Now - noon - slowly breaking into hefty clouds and sun-glimpses!

Same here. Very little wind too, quite an idyllic Easter Sunday - I went on my walk without a jacket but with gloves (which I removed about half way through).

Gonna be hiding some little Easter eggs in the garden for the older of my two little nieces shortly.

Very sunny here with little wind but not particularly warm, especially indoors.

Indeed - but quite chilly outdoors too! It reached 13 C at midday here, and stuck at that, despite a forecast of "reaching 16 C in the east and south", which seemed a highly improbable likelihood to me. Lovely clean, clear air though - just right for overcoming the sloth (following a lunch of jackfruit veggie burger with new potatoes and peas, and Belgian chocolate pud with plain choc sauce for dessert!) and taking to the bike for a 9-mile ride which included Streatham Common on the route: masses of folks around enjoying the brilliant sunshine.

It reached 16 here. Currently it's 15. Sounds like a nice meal you've had.

                  .

... there are two well-established concentric walks around London - an inner one, the 'Capital Ring', with walks of about five miles a time, and an outer, the 'London Loop', with walks of about ten - twelve miles. Today we did the ten-miler, counter-clockwise from Moor Park to Uxbridge. Weather cold as we set out, coats and scarves - but by the time we reached the final stages down the Grand Union Canal really warm. A lovely picnic in 'real country' (or as near as we get to it in south-east England) - butterflies, woodpeckers, jays, much bird-life, not too many people despite it being a gorgeous day and Easter Sunday to boot. A second lunch in the garden back in Hammersmith, really special.

It's good to see the expanding range of vegetarian product on offer in the regular outlets - particularly pre-prepared, microwaveable or for grill/hob/frying, should one live alone: it's not really practical for me to store up large quantities of raw materials, a few herbs apart, though I do get those bags of minced quorn and frozen mixed vegetables, especially the chinese one when available, for quick fry-ups.

Coincidence, that, since I've recently come across the walks the writer Ian Sinclair did a few years back with some of his London mates, and kind of watching and re-watching them, almost wishing I'd been in that company. Ian's ideas about changing landscapes and the part they can play in shaping one's sense of selfhood have a great appeal for me, as you might probably have guessed!

Strong NW winds garnished with small snowflakes. Should clear through apparently and just leave the wind... until the possibly of sleet in the afternoon. Yesterday provided plenty of fresh air and exercise so I think I'll pass today.

Bit more breeze today currently from north. Cloudy and a different feel from yesterday.
