Which is exactly what it reached here. I've only just got in from sunbathing - following a 12-mile ride along one of my favourite routes through "pretend rural" SE London, including a stop-off at the log cabin in Ladywell Park where snacks are served - and where I arrived just before 4 pm, my regular afternoon tea time - whereupon the proprietress said "That's it for today" and started boarding up: it took a lot of charm and persuading to get that cuppa!

It certainly was! More or less unbroken sunshine here, no wind and temperatures that wouldn't have disgraced a day in June or July. Back to normal tomorrow by the looks of it.

More overcast today so not quite as warm, but still very pleasant. Normal service resumed tomorrow in time for Easter - windy and cold, bringing memories of family camping holidays...

Stayed overcast most of the morning but the sun came out more in the afternoon but being this far west to combination of cold sea temperature and warm inland air temperature means more cloud and mist than further up country so while some of you have thought it was June today - here it was still late March.

Shame the warmth can't last. Spent a great afternoon hanging around with my local friend - so much new to exchange as we circumambulated John Ruskin Park. Lots of people out & about, probably in much larger than permitted groups, but there was a lovely feeling abroad today as temperatures exceeded 20 C for the second day running.

A.M: nastiness forecast, but apart from temp drop, here we have sun / slightly mistier blue sky - looks OK!

Much the same as here then, for a change! Much fresher feel minus the humidity - gentle nor-easterly, midday temperature 12 C. Central heating set to go back on tonight !

Some way off double digit temperatures today today even without the wind. Bank Holiday not looking good for those considering a trip to the seaside with their new-found freedoms - "wintry showers" - and the Met Office heading the forecast spread with a picture of a ewe with lambs standing hock deep in a snowy field! Bit of an exaggeration perhaps but I suppose it combines the Easter symbolism with warning of bad weather.

A huge drop in temperature this morning. Taking the pulverising wind into account there's been a fall of around 14 degrees from yesterday and the heating is well and truly back on indoors! It was shirt sleeve weather and I was sitting out in the garden reading yesterday afternoon. It's a case of the woolly hat and Berghaus 24 hours later.

Facebook footage taken around midnight in Louisiana from that storm - hope you can see this. The tornado can be seen, probably less than a mile away, illuminated by the lightning barrage:

Round her it's been quite balmy. Still is. I put a coat on to go for a local woodland walk, earlier this afternoon, and very soon had to take it off. Perhaps the drop in temperature will hit here overnight?

Well, ditto: none of the stuff forecast today has arrived!!
Yes, cold easterly, BUT unstoppable hours of bright, bright, joyous sun and bracing freshness - unclouded!!

                                Day of Reckoning tomorrow...??
