    Thx.
Pretty cold and grey up here - BUT dry until mid-aftrenoon. THEN nasty snaps of rain on a penetrating westerly. Temp dropping fast.

      Indeed!

That yellow thing is trying to come out.

I have some distance to cycle this afternoon to try and find new trainers. I hope the sporadic rain predicted for this afternoon sporadicises elsewhere!

It drizzled briefly around 10 this morning, but around 11 the sun came out - mild too, at 13 degrees.

Rather like that down here today, too!

Opaque dark mass of rain approaching now from the SW, with the wind picking up. Wouldn't be at all surprised to get thunder from this lot.

Mostly sunny today - mild as well. A pleasant Spring day.

Shower, but not as heavy as I'd expected. About to try out my new trainers (Sainsbury's, E Dulwich yesterday, £28) for a test walk.

Here too, though the wind picked up slightly later in the afternoon. An added bonus is that the heating has been more off than on for the first time this year.

Chilly westerly, now spatters of rain, temp dropping to 6C

Reports of a major tornado hitting Birmingham, Alabama, are now coming through. Looking at the current lightning maps, one can see a huge wide area of continuous lightning strikes taking place over a large swathe of SE US States - terrifying. I think we'll be hearing more about this in the next few days.

One of those days where the quantity of rain may not be great but thanks to the amount of wind throwing it around the wetting capacity could be considerable, and said wind will also keep temperatures down. Ah well, not much to be done if I want to visit the market for fruit, fish and flowers.
Yesterday was the first time this year when I thought - "yes it's Spring" rather than just end of winter. Don't know quite what as it was only a little milder than previous days, there wasn't more sun - perhaps more the coming together of that plus the bird activity and sounds and the noticeable proliferation of clumps(rather than one or two blooms) of flowers, and a certain characteristic smell in the air perhaps from breaking tree buds and growing grass. There will still be weeks ahead of chilliness and other unhelpful weather related happenings(usually a lot of easterly airflows which are a trial in this part of the world) but a turning point nonetheless.

I think a mixed bag today.

It was raining when I got up - 6:30 - and carried on until around 10:30 so my long walk was not unpleasant - or made shorter.
