    Cold weather skin trouble?

I find Neutrogena Body/Hand Lotion, with CCS Foot Cream/Heel Balm very effective.....all hypo-allergenic & fragrance free of course, which for me they really have to be....

I see that quite a few people i know in the north, are having a lot of trouble with snow. Quite a few areas you have to find a road! Down here, quite different. Quite cold but we have had not much snow, though.

To my amazement as to what is happening a mere handful of miles away, not a flake in sight here. But same awful easterly and dry, dry, bone/ tinder dry.

1C here, according to my phone app, but Real feel (pernicious wind chill, with due respect to Sir Velo) -7C.
Thankfully no need to go anywhere.

Got my first jab yesterday; much busier than the previous day, when my partner got his, and I was sent to a different 'station': blue, not red. We used different apps to make the bookings; he got the Pfizer and I got the AZ. Bitterly cold queuing outside, so all credit to the loads of volunteers out directing the traffic into the parking bays and then the people to the appropriate vaccination station. Because I wasn't driving, I was allowed to leave straight away (no 15-minute post-jab wait).

Rather a sullen start to the day, but it's brightening a bit now - don't think we'll see the sun properly though. Would be much less cold if not for the strong wind. Heavy rain falling on ice this evening will not be good, but I'm hoping it might get rid of the drifts fore and aft of my car so I can see if I can a) get it started and b ) get it out of its slot as I need to do quite a lot of shopping after a week of not being able to do so.

Good to hear you got your jab - interesting that the two of you had different vaccines. Temp here is 11C and the wind from the South.

I also had my first vaccination yesterday at the local racecourse where similar bitterly cold conditions prevailed. Very well organised but the poor volunteers must have been frozen. As anyone who visits a racecourse will know there is very little escape from the wind at the best of times but it was very nasty yesterday. I also had the AZ where there is no 15 minute post-jab wait but did not feel too good last night with muscle pains and constant shivering. Much better this morning but tired.

As I post, it is bashing it down, driven by a merciless, and VERY cold SOUTH wind. Temp -3C.
So, where is this much bruited milder stuff? Certainly not bloomin' well HERE.

Now, a roaring gale, with shoals of rain.

Raining fairly hard this morning. Died down a hit now though. As soon as it gets warmer, down comes the rain.

A murky day, not actually raining but saturated air. Hardly any wind, which is at odds with the Met report, and so milder than they suggest. Good to see the ice disappearing, just hoping my car will start after its prolonged idleness in the subzero period.

We had just that problem on Saturday. Fairly clearly the battery. We're signed up to Green Flag and they came round pretty promptly. Friendly chap confirmed battery was knackered and was able to flog us us a new one and install it on the spot which saved going to a workshop. We've only been going on short shopping trips lately and did take the car for a decent spin to give the engine a workout.

Changeable weather for the rest of the week, and talk of temperatures getting into the upper teens by the weekend, lasting into early next week possibly, which should help restore the balance in averaging out February's temperatures. 21C is the record February maximum - achieved either last year, or the year before, I think.

Mild here as well, or at least it is out if doors. Inside it still feels much colder with the residue of last week's low temps lingering on.
