Rodding it down up here, and driven by a querulous NE wind.

        Absolutely bloody horrible. Annoyingly horrible.

        Weather to suit the times.

The weather station up the road has recorded nearly 10 mm of rain already today, which is an awful lot for this part of the world, and over 22 mm for the month so far.

Dry here now - Looks like Storm Alex has blown the wet stuff easterly!

I’ll skip Scandinavia this week then!

You can re-locate www.yr.no to cover ANYWHERE in UK.
Scandinavia does not even appear on the map I get from them.

The best that can be said for the weather today is that it isn't as windy as previous forecasts suggested and that as there are holes on the cloud cover there is occasional respite from actual rain. At the moment it looks as if after lunch might be the optimum time for a perambulation - it won't be a 'walk' as such just an attempt to get the legs moving, fresh(ish) air and a change of scenery.

I tend to use various weather apps and try to get a composite impression from all of them. It is never going to be precisely localised enough to be completely reliable, especially re showery rain. My default as the most useful rain radar forecast map is the Met Office app

Here now, racing clouds, bright, bright sun - pretty well perfect for time of year?

But what a wonderful language Norwegian is!

A brisk walk around the block in what is now just spitting rain, and I note that the temperature here hasn't risen higher than 10.5 degrees C today - 7 degrees below the early October mean.

Next week looks to be showery until Thursday, when another lot of wind and rain sweeps through from the west, to be followed by drier conditions generally, but with winds expected to swing around to a more north-westerly type remaining on the coldish side. I can't see them getting back up to 16 C and above for the forseeable.

Dry, warm, still, clouded night up here. Hint of a moon somewhere above clouds.

What horrible weather we are having lately! I think today may be a better one!
