Sorry to be a killjoy but up here, it is damp, drizzling, and to my amazement, actually cold.
Having been off for near on three weeks, and with thermostat down to 60F, the central heating came on this evening of its own accord.
Surprised, but glad, I can tell you.

Sorry to be an anti-killjoy down here, but it looks as though we're in for another hot sunny day - possibly with a gentle sea breeze!

I wouldn't at all mind rain to relieve the seemingly eternal carrying of watering cans to the veggies to keep everything alive and growing.

I've had a break from that the past few days but have had to start again. The breeze that makes things pleasant for humans does the plants no favours when coupled with sun and higher temperatures.

Yesterday morning was pleasant for the shopping trip to town but in the afternoon the temperature rose quickly to an uncomfortable level so an early evening gardening session was abandoned. This afternoon I should have been going for a catch-up with a friend in the garden but we've decided that with temps forecast to get even hotter than yesterday that will be postponed - we've waited months to see each other(our paths don't cross for things like shopping, and choir stopped in March) so another few days won't matter...
The watering was done last night, food was got yesterday, so I can stay indoors thank heavens.

You're certainly right about today being hotter than yesterday: 27.5 C on the north wall thermometer at noon compared with 23 C at same time yesterday. Having kept all curtains. blinds and windows shut since yesterday morning, the heat was certainly noticable on opening the front door. West Norwood high street pretty crowded - no one observing any 2 m distance anymore - and the air con noticeable for the first time in St Sprees making it feel like entering an oven on exiting. The multiply flowering roses with white blooms (maybe "Peace") in the garden and beyond look so shabby once over, and I'm glad I dead-headed yesterday, since today would be too hot for the job. Sunbathing for that essential free Vit. D now waits until after five in the afternoon - as I'm quite sure the young Italian woman from next door who likes to lie toasting all day out there must be relieved to know!

The likelihood of a severe thundery breakdown associated with a strong cold front coupled with preceding elevated shortwave, is now pretty certain for Thursday afternoon, going on Friday Morning, spreading from SW to NE to clear NE Scotland by Saturday morning, and followed by a fair bit more rain from an eastward-moving occluding frontal system associated with a new primary low stuck west of Scotland, and in turn by a return to changeable zonal conditions, with breezy westerlies and temperatures back down to where one would expect for the end of June (20 C max for London). I'm hoping the storms will be through by the time we are supposed to be having our outdoor residents' association meeting!

My 'shade' thermometer(also N facing) is showing between 32 and 35 at the moment - it nudged 30 yesterday. Even making all kinds of caveats about heat reflection from the patio etc that comes out as hot!
The rose won't be Peace as that is a mostly yellow HT(hybrid tea)ie flowers on single stalks. The floribunda Iceberg is a popular landscaper's rose but that usually drops its petals reasonably well. Very hot weather can alter the way roses flower though and I've noticed some round here that would normally be reasonably tidy seem to flower and go over so quickly that the petals don't drop properly. A different version of the untidiness that some roses go in for when they get heavily rained on.

Yes, they most probably are Iceberg, when I come to think about it. Thanks for that correction.

Currently 23.5 C according to the weather station up the road - that's hot for 10. a.m. in these parts.
