Lots of alkanet in our garden. We just let it grow unlike some gardeners.
After a fabulous afternoon, there's a ditto night sky with a young moon and Venus close by. Sad that it's all (probably) coming to an end. I've been putting off shed roof repair...in favour of piano practice...but will try and sneak it in tomorrow before rain starts. Looks like low-pressure systems getting back on track over the next week.

I think this week will not be as good as last. It will be cooler and wetter!

10 drops of rain at about 6 p.m. last evening, and then...and then...? ................nowt.

        This a.m., cloudless, v.gentle breeze............warm.

How long before a govt begins to wonder about a hose-pipe ban....this is if they want a revolution to liven things up a little?

Some rain overnight, so everything looks a bit fresher, but we really do need more.

So far just a couple of sprinkles - nothing like what’s needed.

Lots of alkanet, yes, and ragged robin and coltsfoot and Queen Anne’s Lace and ragwort and Lords and Ladies and things which may be deadnettles but I’m not sure...

But then they wouldn;t have high pressure hoses to wash the revolutionaries away!

Time to get out for some necessities before the downpour comes tomorrow.

Up here, cold, grey, easterly breeze that cuts. 5C.
                    Quite a change.

It's been the sunniest April on record here in Suffolk and in East Anglia as a whole.

Yes, and same here in NW..............until this a.m.!

But...but......let it not be whispered in Gath, but..........I THINK we have maybe a drip or three of..........RAIN.

But tonight, what an amazing change in the weather up here - seriously cold, wet, sneaky easterly breeze. Feels like a bit of winter.

Yesterday rained all day, very gently for most of it which was useful as the ground was too hard to cope with any quantity. Became heavier towards evening, and carried on sporadically overnight. More of various wetnesses forecast(and happening) for today. Cold yesterday - heating went back on automatically, but I would have put it on anyway; regardless of what the indoor thermometer says wet weather and cool winds always make things seem colder. The shopping expedition will need an extra layer, as yesterday's exercise outing did, underneath the waterproof - and a painkiller as the change does not agree with the joints...The garden is relishing it though and I won't need to time watering - might even wind up the connecting house from the house tap. Will need to go and check for mollusc activity on the salad beds - they will be raring to feed and breed.

My CH system only operates manually to turn on, and only turns off if the thermostat tallies with rising temperatures outside raising them indoors. I always have to turn it on myself when it gets too cold to endure - which for me these days is below 18 degrees Celsius.

(I used to be able to endure inside temperatures down to 15 C, but in my mid-70s .........)
