Gorgeous sunshine and fantastic countryside shooting and sprouting. Birds a-twitter. Bitter sweet in these difficult times. Very much reduced traffic on the roads making things even better here in the SW.

When the weather is like this the critical thing is keeping the wind out. Garments with zips that don't have a fly(flap) behind will soon demonstrate their weak spot! I have a good quality waterproof jacket(a star charity shop find - I could never justify what it would have cost new) which, when the sun is doing its thing, will be adequate over a good warm woolly, provided I add a suitable scarf and some gloves - and something to mop up runny eyes and nose caused by the wind!
It wasn't as clear early on as yesterday and there is quite a bit of wispy high level cloud, but nothing to obscure the sun. I rather overdid the gardening yesterday so will have to resist the urge to get out and carry on preparing the new veg bed - this drying wind is excellent for making the claggy bits workable so I can get compost tickled in for the worms to do their stuff.

As do I. It’s very useful, to say the least. I dint know why people are still going around, as if it’s summer, plus no social distancing is being adhered too! People flocked to Brighton, as if it were a holiday!

Another great day today. Albeit on the the warmer side today, as MrsBBM had to move the car.

Lovely down by the Rollesbrook in central So’ton with the dog bounding about enthusiastically and the greenery busting out all over. Not a human soul to be seen.

I shall be out on the bike for the permitted outside exercise presently, visiting favourite local spots. First I have to repair a front tyre - or tire, as the Americans spell it. They don't exercise as much as us in the main, and tire easily.

Watch out for a sudden shock to the system coming on Saturday, when winds pick up and go round to the NE quarter. The higher up you are the more likely to witness some of the white stuff, apparently. And I don't mean up the social order!

Fairly bright here (enough to have filled the solar power battery) but a bit breezy; just back from my ten times round the block cycle ride, so I suppose equal benefits from cycling into the wind and having it behind me.
