Yet again the unflagging changeable weather this country produces a fine day today.
Stormy Weather II

The wind was vicious yesterday, very cold, very strong and very gusty. I got stopped in my tracks several times when doing the errands in town. The greater inconsistency of direction this time has been fretting away at things previously not overly affected - or already repositioned! I found a blue waterbutt cover which had obviously done a frisbee during the night from somewhere sitting in the middle of my lawn. I think it may have come from 5 houses down as I can see a blue barrel beside a shed at the bottom of the garden there - all the other butts are standard green, up against houses, with secure lids. Good thing I wasn't in the garden at the time...

Yes, yes..............and BBC described it all as 'breezy'.
I seriously begin to think that the weathermen / women are specifically told NOT to use stark language so as to alleviate or pacify. If you had a wind that oddoneout and I and many, many others will have experienced and call it a 'breeze', do you not run the risk of making your audience simply reject the weather predictions as at best the merest half truths and thus untrustworthy?
Like to see them try that with the shipping forecast.

The amount of rain isn't that great but given the, er, vigorous nature of the air movement, it's more unpleasant than might otherwise be the case so I'll wait until this afternoon for walking into town. Tiresome enough having bags and scarves flapping around without adding wetness to the mix.
