Thanks for asking they really did - and with the weather at the moment I can’t believe we had such a fine day for it, even a little sunshine.

You'd have needed a sou'wester and a shield for the hail here!

Wonderful stars, high moon and pushy westerly. Good to be alive about out walking tonight.

Wind rising and cold. Just heard the lunchtime BBC forecast talking of 8-10C up here. ...................Pah!
I've just been out, and it's 4C, and the wind is cutting. Rain thickening and persistent.

Now utterly and unrelievedly vile...and COLD.

From such a lovely day yesterday, to cold wet and windy day today! Such contrasts!

Possibly a collared dove - or an exceptionally talented starling displaying its powers of mimicry? The 2nd week in March would, I think, indeed be a 'first' for the arrival of a cuckoo in the UK.

It cleared up enough this afternoon for it to feel quite warm here, despite a fresh breeze. The river in Belair Park, just up the road from here, has flooded to a greater extent than I've seen since moving here 16 years ago, swamping the paths on each side. Signs are that the current long run of westerlies will end in a week's time, with pressure building in from the SW. Temperatures if anything will be lower, with frosty nights, but it should feel pleasantly warm in any sunshine.

Might be a mixed bag today?

Just heard the 1.59 BBC weather - temps of 'double figures' cheerily trumpeted, 'breezy' was the word used?
Well, HERE, btw also in UK, BBC please note - the temp outside is currently 5C. And it is shoaling it down, and the 'breeze' is strong enough to blow over full recycle bins awaiting n emptying and has a truly nasty edge - I've just been out to re-fill and pick one up.

                            FGS.......!!

Truly irks me that they will not use language that actually tells it like it is, and will not be more honest in predictions.

Grin and bear it through gritted teeth for the time being: drier weather is on the way for next week - DracoM's friend the weather person said we could be experiencing 6 clear days without rain for the first time since last September!

Ha! Yeah, right................believe it when I see it, mate! Why don't they ave the guts to say in so many words 'for some in UK, it's going to be grim and unpleasant', and THEN fill in the figures'?
