It did snow here this morning after all, moderately, from 9.30 for about an hour. The temperature fell from 3 degs celsius at 7 o'clock to just over 1 deg celsius at 10. It didn't settle, and skies started to break up by 11. The nor-wester that has now blown in is gusty and it feels a lot colder than the 6C now showing on my thermometer. Wrap-up well time if I am to take an afternoon constitutional.

All set now for another very wet weekend, and strong gales on Sunday afternoon and evening.

Vague signs of high pressure starting to build to the SW from next Wednesday, but I'm not holding my breath.

Utterly and completely VILE up here - thick rain, thicker clouds, and wow, is it COLD, with sneaping chilly westerly.
Is this what ALL winters are increasingly going to be like - climate change etc etc???

It was dry and reasonably bright first thing with no too much wind, but quickly deteriorated as the rain arrived(luckily after I had finished errands in town) and the wind got up.
Draco, I suspect this may well be the pattern for the years ahead. I'm not looking forward to ever increasing blurring between the seasons; even if, as humans, we do our best to live life without reference to the seasons, there is a limit to how far that approach works when it comes to food production.

Unbelievably, flowers starting to open around here...as you say, ready for the frost.
Here in the SW, it's MUD, MUD everywhere. No hippos yet, despite global warming. Stupidly, we've just had a new nearly white carpet laid in our sitting room, the first change for over 30 years. We did look for a mud-coloured one, but it seems unfashionable.

Rain, snow, rain. Not desperately cold though. Some of my daffodils are out.
I do like Draco's 'sneaping'. New to me!

And here. It's been pouring non-stop all day with no sign of it looking likely to cease anytime soon. No wind, though, which is something to be thankful for.

Bright, bright sun, plenty of blue sky, BUT a glacially cold wind and in a hurry too.
And now..........streams of mixed sleet / rain on a fierce wind. yr.no says 4C but feels like -2C. Just been gardening, and they're dead right!

A bit of everything here today: sunshine, snow, strong cold wind, thick cloud, blue sky, rain.

We had Jörge, yesterday. Quite a storm, to say the least but I think Dennis the Darth Vader Menace, was indeed The Phantomn Menace!

A sunny day here on March 1st?

Wild night, largely dry this a.m., but wind is getting up even more.
When will we ever learn..............? etc.
