A lovely looking day outside but rather cold. When I woke up around 08:00am, it was 63F!

Bit of sun here today, mix of cloud and blue sky, and a chilly breeze.

Sun, cloud, sharp to very sharp westerly breeze. Snow forecast..? Hmm.

The morning was a bit indecisive, with a few spots of rain, but cleared to sun and blue sky with pretty white fluffy bits by lunchtime. It's now clouding over with dirty stuff, although quite high so I don't think it'll leak. The constant has been the wind - quite strong and blustery, and cold. It has done a good job of drying out the heavy rain that fell last night though - and some washing, although extra pegs have been needed.

Really scary conditions thought likely to develop from Saturday afternoon onwards, particularly Sunday, where 54 mph gusts - the highest I've yet seen officially anticipated - are being predicted, even down here in the privileged south - but with strong to gale-force winds lasting right through next week. Take any garden furniture and potted plants indoors, especially if you've left them out on balconies. And it ain't gonna be warm either. Not looking forward to this one bit!

A lovely bright sunny day, and with the wind having dropped right away the volunteer gardening was a real pleasure. There seems to have been a change in the robin residents - there were two around but they were wary and silent, and the territories either hadn't been established yet or were just different from last season. Last year we had a newbie who was fairly shy, and an established bird who alternated between singing to us and scolding, loudly and prominently.
