I didn't heed my own observations re rain possibility, which was a tad tiresome as the washing(some heavy items) had done quite well. By the time I noticed what was happening the uppermost bits had got very wet, so it was through a spin cycle and onto the indoor airer. Although the sky has cleared frost isn't forecast and in any case a band of rain is due across before dawn. Waking up to a soggy day, lovely - not.
Blackbirds sometimes splat on my washing and there is a brief period of the year when I have to be quite careful what I hang out as the neighbour has a berberis thicket only a few feet away from the rotary line and the dark purple berries are very popular.

Turned into a lovely late autumn day down here, a few birds pottering about and singing, and all the squirrels staying in their appointed trees.

Felt quite warm for late November. Installed a battery powered LED spotlight for the from steps.

      I know, exciting eh ?

Why not a solar powered one?
Is it triggered by potential burglars/visitors?

          I couldn’t/ didn’t find a solar one ! I’ll have a look for next time though.

It is triggered by both myself and Mrs TS, though the cats don’t seem to have set it off yet.
i’m assuming that visitors and burglars ( presumably from over the Hampshire border ) will also set it off. And Lib Dem Canvassers, who don’t seem too worried about waste paper, though to be fair they are the only ones in evidence round here.

Glad yesterday turned out to be a good one, what with all the Remembrance events going on, Up and down the country.

I think a mixed bag today.

Yep - lots of showers being reported in the SW, none here yet, and they might fizzle out as they cross the country.

I'm very concerned about Wednesday and, in particular, Thursday, when the weather map forecast is pretty much a replica of the one that dumped all that rain across the southern Pennines and Peak District. There was a big discussion on TV this morning about whether one should always obey the authorities and evacuate your home in these circumstances, or stay put.

Strongish gusts from the NW here today with sporadic showers, some with hail.

Too dark. My light has had to go back on.

Cold occlusion now sweeping rapidly down from the north-west: "the Heef", only 12 miles to the north, like some distant memory, completely shrounded in precipitation now as rain spots ahead of the main rain belt reach here on a gusty wind. It's not gonna be fun visiting the shops this afternoon, then cycling the 3 miles to tonight's talk over in Herne Hill. Hard to believe just an hour ago there was barely a cloud to be seen.

As of now, yesterday's fears of a repeat of Friday are reduced for this coming Thursday in the flood-affected areas.
