Perhaps a little OT, but if I've understood S_A's #3766 correctly, then I'd like to take this opportunity to wish him a Very Happy Birthday, with thanks for all his invaluable contributions to the Forum, not least on this very Thread.
(And, if I've misunderstood it - put the Very Happy Birthday somewhere hidden until it surprises you on the right day. The rest of the greeting still holds!)Numquam Satis!

Not a nice day today. The rain was heavy and took longer to clear than expected, and when it did clear about lunchtime the temperature dropped noticeably, which seemed odd considering the wind had gone round to various southerly directions. Frost is forecast for tonight - oh joy. Fortunately, although I have to go in to work for a meeting tomorrow morning it isn't first thing so I'll have time to clear the car if necessary. Being shaded by the houses opposite is good in summer, not so much when frost appears.

Forecast suggesting N/NE winds are on the rise up here over the next few days.
Always a sign that wintry nastiness is on the way.

The sun never got up, the day never arrived, the taxi never came .... so I gave up & stayed home... chicken soup, focaccia, dozed off with The Cat.....
Wet leaves in skeins, drifts and mounds.... waterlogged lawns, flooded verges, much mud.... very hungry birds....!
Better tomorrow I think.... I hope......

I'd always understood that this place had the wettest climate on the planet, but now I'm seriously beginning to doubt!

I see my friends up north are having a bad time of it, weather wise. Hope all are safe! I see that some shoppers in Sheffield were stranded!
In the mean time, down south it’s fine today. Yesterday only had drizzle later on on the day.Don’t cry for me
