Gloves but no jacket needed for my short morning walk to school this morning and yesterday: still reasonably bright here.
Unfortunately, rain is forecast for tomorrow, when a school trip to the Yorkshire Museum in town (Roman history) is planned, so I guess I'll need my jacket as well as my pack-up lunch then!

Feels quite mild today. Not sure what it’s like outside yet but there’s fog developing now. Rather gloomy.

Thick drizzle from the fog-enshrouded Crystal Palace ridge here suddenly transitioned to heavy rain just before midday as I was making my way up the garden path with a satchelful of groceries, so I'm patting myself on the back for forecasting accuracy! Virtually zero wind and still very gloomy, so I don't think this cold front is in any hurry to clear. Probably have to wait until teatime. At least it's still mild - and promises to remain so until late on Sunday, as winds switch round to the north, following the prospect of another very wet day. Anyone up to 80 miles north of roughly a line from Penzance and Grimsby looks likely to get a clobbering of heavy rain tomorrow: warnings are out for Wales and parts of the Midlands, and that could mean flooding in places.

Long rumble of thunder a few miles to the south just now!

Rain here is hard, southern fells invisible, BUT real feature is the significant drop in temp.
Next week, forecast says mid-week three nights of 0C, daytime no higher than 8C.

Wet, cold, grey, waterlogged grass, flooded roads and (lots of) leaves.....
No country walk tonight then..... farmer just ploughed over the stubble, to the very edge, pretty laborious walking through that (I don't like sticking to official footpaths......I want the big sky overhead.....)...

Dry weather and a frost might help...

And here, too. Been hosing it down for most of the day and wind has picked up considerably during the afternoon.

                  Hatches well battened down here!
It will be even gloomier in the evenings once the hour changes this weekend.

Oh God No.... hadn't realised it was this weekend....
The famous walk needs rescheduling then.... and a 1630 Kick-Off on Sunday so....

Every year I swear I'll get up earlier, but I'll always be an owl.... still with two cats, the official one and the stray-who-came-to-stay...that might help...

One of those disconcerting occasions where the temperature is rising noticeably(16C now Met Office suggests) through the night and then is forecast to fall as the sun comes up. Saturday looks to be a non-starter in terms of outdoor activity, so I'm glad I took advantage of a pleasant morning today to do more tidying in the garden.

Very grey, tipping it down. Still got the light on.
