The weather was quite atrocious coming back from being out in a country town near us, East Grinstead. The road we were driving on, on the way back was looking as though it could flood.
When will we have a break? It doesn’t look that good tomorrow or for the next couple of days.
We may get a break on Tuesday.Don’t cry for me

Dry here today, too, and the wind has abated after a ghastly day of rain and wind yesterday. More rain forecast for tomorrow but temperatures holding up reasonably well. Trouble is, it's warmer outside than in which means the heating is necessary to keep it comfortable.

Well, it’s the 13th October and I today have been lying on the northernmost beach on the Scottish mainland, Dunnet Beach. Temperature - middle 60s I guess. It has been one glorious day.Money can't buy you happiness............but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery - Spike Milligan

It rained off and on all day here, not at all good for our event, but on the plus side the wind kept down and it was mild. The sun made a brief and glorious appearance at 5 pm as we did the final shutdown - typical!

Exceptionally dramatic sunset over London this evening: vivid orange sky to the west, with thick matted masses of cirrus and altostratus illuminated brilliant pink right across the sky, from west to east. A very bad sign, it has to be said, which is expected to be borne out int omorrow's weather for this part of the world.
I see temperatures in the Basque region of France have been breaking October records today, reaching 32C (that's 90F in old money) around Biarritz, and even 26C in Paris.

Meanwhile there's quite a bit of concern over the violent storms now running up the western side of France reaching here between teatime and rush hour; the Met Office has gone so far as to issue an amber warning, which is just one short of red, ie maximum alert, abandon ship etc!

Weather glorious today - misty morning turned into fab sunny autumn day with gentle colour changing. Weather's been pretty good here on the Angus/ Perthshire border this last week or so, though it did rain through the night last night, probably the cause of this morning's mist. We seem to have been getting the best of things lately...for a change!
