At last! - your turn to enjoy sunshine, while we languish under cool grey skies and rain on and off for most of the day. I think tonight might go down to single figures - an early portent of autumn!

We actually had one here around elevenses time, which tbf rather caught me by surprise, even though it had turned so dark I had to switch the light on. There was quite heavy rain for half an hour, followed by what sounded by the roof collapsing. I checked Lightningmaps to find there had just been half a dozen strikes towards Bromley - must have been a really loud clap to be heard from that far away!

It feels much fresher, but the skies still look very convective, so my guess is that we're in for one of those showery days today.

It was odd - can't remember the last time I felt I needed gloves on the first half of a walk in the first half of August. There was a slight bit of rain but then the sun came out. The temperature here seems very contingent on whether the sun is out.

No more flashes here, recently, I'm pleased to report.

Nice moon seen the last couple of nights though, when the sky was clear for a while, but cold with it.
Brighter today, and the wind has dropped a bit too, so it's altogether more pleasant than recently.
