As I keep saying, the BBC forecast is broke, and so vague and inaccurate as presented on air as to next to or be virtually useless.
Farmers round here need accuracy [as far as doing any weather predictions can be] and they do NOT use the BBC for lambing, silage, sowing etc.
Many use www.yr.no which can be locally focused if you wish.
The UK weather forecast obviously involves liberal doses of British understatement... I'm thinking of building an ark. I'm facing a fine, so I have to make an expedition to the library; if I don't post again please tell air/sea rescue to watch out for a chap floating on a raft made out of library books somewhere east of Bedford...
It’s the same here in the Scottish Highlands - the actual weather never reflects what the forecast has indicated. I have long felt that as most of the news these days is completely fake then why not the weather forecast also? It certainly seems that way.

Can't you ring them up or renew online?
Perhaps the book has been requested by another borrower, though.

That's correct - as reflected in the frequent way forecasters now predict temperatures to be ranging from, for example, between 12 and 17 degrees, for instance - a gap of 9 degrees Fahrenheit that standards would once never have allowed to pass back in the day. Talk about giving yourself enough rope to hang a reputation on!
Hooray, there is still a sun! And it came prettily dressed with a patch of blue sky this morning as well. It has been dry and mostly sunny, and significantly warmer through the day. The ever circling black clouds are currently leaking but it should go over before too long and I will be able to get out for a bit more gardening. It's set to be warmer overnight than it has been during the day for some time...
A sunny very warm morning - excellent for drying the washing. Dark clouds at midday didn't deliver and now it's still dry although more windy, and overcast. Grass cutting this afternoon is a priority I think to check the weeds that are now about to flower, having shot up in the rain.
Well, after a dryish start, it is now rodding it down up here, and temp has seriously dropped.
Then into relative clearing of skies, BUT as a result temp dropped even more!
