Not too much rain as the fronts move north - perhaps too little when so much is needed to fill the aquifers - but the right kind for soaking into the parched soil: heavy summer rains often just run off, taking topsoil with them. We have to wait and see what the afternoon brings: should the sun come out in the middle of Miguel it could spark off some very heavy showers in the S and Midlands - and as the westerlies swing in behing the low's passage it's gonna get pretty windy down here overnight and tomorrow morning.
