Very threatening sky looming up to the west here - lightning just registered on the M25, just west of Heathrow, and several strikes over Southend-on-Sea.
I think we missed this, unfortunately!
I think today should be alright!

We were just too far south, BBM, though Putney got large marble-sized hailstones yesterday in a storm which just skirted here. Today's started beautiful, but the atmospheric situation's much the same, so it could happen just about anywhere. We really have to wait until Sunday for dry weather everywhere, as another of those huge high pressure systems builds up over the NE part of the country. Dry, but not particularly warm weather, is then expected to last as far as is possible to predict. The best places to be will be the western edges of Wales and Scotland and the Lakes, as often happens at this time of year. With descending drying out air from the E and NE they experience brilliant sunshine and visibility as far as is possible to see.

Just hang on in there, Drac - you can curse me later, when I turn out to be wrong!
Cloudless, wonderful, BUT....BUT not warm! Maybe a frost tonight under such clear skies?
The positioning of this high will benefit you in the NW more than us down here, the air reaching you from the S having been warmed on passage over sun-heated land.
There's evidence of a bit of a breakdown in the weather on Friday and into the weekend, as a "cut off low" that has been over France extends its influence northwards to affect mainly the south and Midlands with thundery showers, after which all is expected to recover, with temperatures above normal, though (tbf) that's rather far ahead to predict with any certainty.
....hoping to see some Ragged Robin that I cast seed from wild plants....on google imaging I see there are many different types some with complicated petal shapes....
