A bit grey here today but I’ll cut the grass anyway!

Chilly and very wet this morning, but as forecast the rain clearing by midday. The garden will have benefited from the rain and I have now got a full water butt by the back door again.
The local heritage railway has a diesel gala this weekend and I suspect that bad weather today might make the prospect of sitting in the warm (depending on which train you are on) and dry trundling slowly through some pretty countryside more appealing than would have been the case yesterday which was a dry, reasonably pleasant spring day.

There were warnings yesterday and this morning of showers in the SE, possibly thundery this afternoon. All morning herebaouts was dominated by low grey clag, lifted fog basically, obscuring anything going on at higher levels. If the brief moderate rain at lunchtime was all that marked the predicted westward passge of the warm front, that will be disappointing to storm lovers like me; however I'm watching a clutch of intense storms breaking out over western Holland and Belgium right now, which could be headed this way in a few hours.

The impressive overnight murk has cleared to a sunny, mild(warm even 'tis reckoned this afternoon) morning.

Rain, rain, rain. Gardens delighted, ducks equally, bus passengers grim-faced.

That is what is coming our way tomorrow; once today's claggy, rainy weather moves out of the way, this is about as "warm" as it will get (10 degs C). There is speculation on the possibility of a warm-up around Sunday, though I'm not holding my breath.

'Twas hot yesterday(19 in the afternoon) 'tis cold today(11 ish but windchill taking it down to single figures). Interesting as the wind direction didn't/hasn't changed significantly, just the quantity.
