Looks like a repeat performance is lined up for Wednesday.

Best to make the most of today (if that's not too late) - tomorrow risks very strong damaging gales as the cold front crosses during the day (you'll know all about it!), and Wednesday a repeat of yesterday's gale-force westerlies. With more blows (and rain) on Thursday and Saturday, it looks like the earliest for signs of a clearance and ridge building from the SW is Sunday.
The council men came and cleared the tree debris this morning - somebody must've complained abut the pavement being blocked. A lovely day today, on the coolish side.

Today is winding up significantly on the wind front again(weather warnings as well as what one can see out the window) and we are promised rain to go with it later - oh joy.

Very intense rain and winds for 10 minutes, visibility reduced to a couple of hundred metres, as the cold front/line squall passed through at 1.45, with just enough of a pre-warning for our gardener to leap into his van without getting soaked and sit this one out. The temperature fell from 9 C to 6 C in 5 minutes. The rain belt is turning out to be wider than usual for this type of situation, as a showery-type shortwave trough impinging from the NW has joined up with it, estending the low cloud base and moderate rain area - still no sign of the usual clearance to the west.
So now we have tonight and tomorrow to look forward to.

My kinds of warnings always come too late - hence the distinction (I think).
