I was expecting rain on my walk but it has turned out to be well-timed in that it started raining not long after I got back home. Very windy and mild - too mild for a jacket and too windy for a brolly...

Very windy and warm here in S.Suffolk, the greenhouse in the upper twenties.

Absolutely sheeting it down up here!

The cold front/line squall went through in 5 minutes a short while ago here - and I got caught in it, after seeing my mate off at the bus stop. This is a problem of approaching weather systems obscured by low cloud so you can't see what's going on at higher levels! Big puddles all around for such a short spell of rain. Warm sector temperature reached 19C - a couple above early October average - now 15C but still feeling warm in the lighter breeze.

A warm morning - we volunteer gardeners were shedding layers - peaking at 20 degrees, but dropping quite suddenly when the rain started to set in about 2pm. The wind really picked up through the morning and by the time the rain came was gusting to over 40mph, which posed a few problems for the builders working with long lengths of felt on the roof. When the rain started to really bucket down they called it a day. Tomorrow should be OK for them - dry and with the wind dropping back, although still quite breezy, which they will notice as they get to the ridge and out of the shelter of the man roof.

Yes, really lovely, with the max temperature up to 17C in this neck of the woods - probably a bit higher where I took myself on the bike today: Herne Hill > Clapham Common (north side) > Wandsworth town centre > Putney Bridge > Barnes > Mortlake/Chiswick Bridge > Duke's Meadows/Chiswick and Hammersmith riverside walk > Hammersmith Broadway stop off for some nosh at Hammersmith Underground station Prêt-à-Manger > Earl's Court (past the Troubadour for all you folkies!) > Battersea Bridge > Clapham Common (north side, opposite direction) > Acre Lane > Brixton Hill > Herne Hill > W Dulwich > home. Left home 12.05, arrived back 4.30: estimated 26 miles. The gentle to moderate SW headwind I had to face on the outward journey proved helpful for the return journey. This will probably be my last long cycle trip for 2022.

B'fast time wild, wild gale and sheeting it down, then stopped suddenly - horizon to west looks heavily grey!

Quite a bit of sun today, and mild but very windy. The bus journey to and from the city was more than a little wavery, with long lengths of road exposed to the full force across miles of open land, and of course the bus sides providing plenty of solid matter to push against.

Going for my flu jab today. As it’s a sunny day I’ll be sauntering off on my mobility scooter.

                          Very pleasant, sunny and still.

Plenty of sunshine today and the breeze is just that, rather than a wind. The trees and bushes are really beginning to put on their parts now and looking lovely against the blue sky.

I saw a horse chestnut in full blossom on my round cycle trip - first time in the autumn.

A busy day today. Off to the vets to take out the stitches from our puppy, Bobby. Then up to town for some groceries, on my SCO. Hoping it won’t be too cold!
