Plenty of sun today so pleasantly warm out of the sneaky cold breeze. The forecast claims rain tomorrow - how ironic it would be if, after all these arid weeks, the weekly gardening stint is rained off... Don't see it happening myself, but in this instance I would be happy to be proved wrong!

Just back in God's Own Country after a few days in the smoke seeing family...

...Ahhh, a sweet sweet rain is falling!

Frustration on the rain front. There was a short sharp shower lasting all of about 4 mins at midday, and then a few spits and spots and a brief bit of drizzle, but quite a lot of cloud that looked as if it might leak so the garden team decided to call it a day. A neighbour who'd planned an outing with his wife to a town all of 16 miles away got there to find it was bucketing down. The map suggests that tere should be some proper rain for a while later on but I wouldn't be surprised if the promising coloured pixels break up and go N and S of here...
I shall be going back to do the watering tomorrow... and hoping that the bee swarm that disrupted work I'd intended to do today has been successfully retrieved and removed.

First proper heavy rain here right now since April 6th! Nice roll cloud sighted in advance of this, as I hurried my way back just now - we could just get a rumble of thunder out of this.

Bad hay fever day today. As soon as the sun comes out, that’s it for me.

Sssshhhh, I think it might be like a summer’s day, today. I didn’t say this, and you never read this!

This looks like being the warmest day so far this year down here, but I shall probably have to miss out on any sunbathing following my afternoon shopping trip, given that the high pre-frontal cirrus now encroaching from the NW will probably be obscuring the sun by that point. Anyone west of a line from Hull to Southampton should stay dry, avoiding showers expected here tomorrow. But boy, don't we need some rain! Only a couple of millimetres-worth actually fell on London on Wednesday!

Cloudy, windy and looks like rain. Says 14C but feels quite chilly indoors.

Well, if you need rain, my friend, come up here - it's whacking it down.
