Apparently several places experienced cloudbursts as the cold front went through early this morning - but not us!

Tomorrow looks like a repeat performance, but with added windiness pretty much everywhere, particularly following the clearance. Temperatures are now virtually down to normal for end of October, and the expected drop to daytime minima of 11 C from Monday onwards will also be in line with what is to be expected as November begins, though it's going to feel chilly, with winds veering round to the north, and ground frosts eventually.

Don't forget - clocks back tonight!

      Sainsbury's car park, yesterday:

It's been raining the past few hours again here, so I'd imagine it'll be even worse today! Hopefully the sun will come out again, though - fingers crossed...

        JK, I’m not surprised!

Wild, wet and windy down here.

Wasn't too bad first thing - not raining and not too windy, but the weather arrived in earnest about half an hour ago so hatches battened down for now. It's due to clear during the afternoon so I might be able to go round to next door's and look for usable windfall pears and apples before the assorted critturs get them.

Some flooding here too down at the S Circular end of College Road - halfway up car wheels. I stuck to hard surfaces - the wilder paths in the park now too muddy. Nice rainbow seen at the back end of a passing shower: the air felt unusually soft and warm, given a moderate to fresh breeze and that the temperature was only 13 C - no need for even a raincoat.

Wild, wildest westerly driving great sweeping scimitars of thick rain across the fells.
Anyone tricking or treating tonight up here must be either crazy or strutting their immortality!

It was down here, too, yesterday. Today, I hope for better things.

The rain cleared early afternoon yesterday, and later on the low sun shining through the autumn trees was a joy. Very windy overnight but dry and this morning a scrubbed clean blue sky and brilliant sun, continuing windy though. There may be rain this afternoon so an added incentive to get out this morning and leave chores till later.

Sunny sunny Suffolk for the present at least.

Looks like were in for a not too bad day with sun, light breeze and showers.

Advice of my own which I followed just now with a trip down to the local shops - cloud build up from the west now, suggesting probably showers this afternoon, unsurprisingly, given we're in the circulation of a a bl**dy great low to the north right now.

Incidentally, what has become of Spontex cloths?? Absolutely essential for that kitchen cleanliness thing yet nowhere to be found: I've now been on the lookout for them for a couple of weeks!!!
