This is so frustrating! Wednesday night's rain didn't happen - not even a hint - and now there are potential rain bearing masses to the north south east and west, but a great gap where I live. Both Met and BBC forecasts give at least 60% rain possibility, and further lower chances later. An impressive black bank of cloud traveled across about 30 mins ago but the few very small drips from it hardly reached the ground before they dried up and barely disturbed the dust deposited on the car windows from the unmade road. Oh well, nothing to be done, but going round the garden doesn't raise the spirits as much as it might now, seeing veg struggling and some of the flowers dying almost before they open.

Altocumulus spread from the west just now, ahead of that system anticipated to bring rain to the West Country, ended my hour's worth of sunbathing - a consequence of falling asleep listening to Sibelius in the other room after lunch! I need to check, but yesterday it looked as if tomorrow is going to be mainly cloudy.

Good thing it stayed dry for Sunday though as it was the first event in two years and coping with close to 1800 visitors after months of 180 being considered a busy day, was quite enough to be getting on with!
