Overnight frost clearing early again and bright at the moment but cloud is building up although with luck it won't bring rain until later in the day. Saturday's forecast is looking even worse than it did yesterday, so work is looking even less inviting. Just have to hope that whatever the system is that it moves through quicker than currently expected so that at least the rain is less of a problem.

No frost here for three nights running! And it looks as if today might be shower free; current temperature 12 C, light westerly, excellent viz, sky quarter covered with cumulus humilis. I shall be undertaking my weekend shopping trip this afternoon instead of first thing tomorrow, when heavy wind-driven rain is expected on the doorstep soon after dawn. At least we can expect temperatures well up on what they have been for much of the past month.

Same here...and I'm off shortly to get my second Covid vaccination. My first was on February 13 so exactly 12 weeks almost to the minute. On that occasion it was bitterly cold, today it's a soaking!"The sound is the handwriting of the conductor" - Bernard Haitink

I do wonder about the predicted temperatures for Sunday given that the wind will still be quite strong and that has been a limiting factor here all along. A night without frost and a day without rain have to be considered a bonus though, so I'll settle for that and warmth will be nice if it happens.

Good grief, actual warmth! The sun is rather fitful but no matter, being able to go outside without bundling up in several layers, and being able to put the poor seedlings outside without them getting shrivelled or shredded by bitter winds, is a bonus. Perhaps I can risk re-sowing peas and beans that failed in the cold and drought.
Hoping for a bit of dry now so that the grass can be cut. I know it's "No mow May" but as a hayfever sufferer that has limited appeal...
