Raining earlier this morning but it does feel cold. The heating is on at a level usually seen in late winter. At least the ghastly wind has abated.

Also: it's dark. I felt the need to put the light on in the kitchen for lunch!

Just got rained on during bike ride, but looking forward to a couple of sets of tennis this evening - any precipitation looks minimal from about 7pm

Thunder and lightning now, from a storm system extending all the way from Hampshire to NW London!

Edit: Probably as much rain fell in that 20 minute storm as during the entirety of 2021 thus far! The temperature fell from 14 C to 5 C in that time.

6th May. Scottish Highlands. Snow on hills - also lower down earlier!

Fairly sunny here this morning though hail showers are forecast for this afternoon. That awful wind has gone but it's still far from warm, even in the sun. Feels more like end of March.

A wet morning here, and not very warm, disappointed to have to decide to cancel our outdoor singing practice.

Sounds similar to here. Even without windchill the temps are well shy of double digits and it feels very raw. The first part of last night was wet and then there was a sharp frost (-2 on my thermometer), but the sun got through early enough that most folk probably didn't have to scrape windscreens. Dry so far, but plenty of scope for scattered showers looking at the map, possibly thunder and hail according to the forecast.

Sun, BUT then squally nastinesses pretty close to hail and beyond.
And COLD. Yes, outside NOW 3C!!

Pea-sized hail fell on us as we waited to go in to vote, earlier on. People were actually queuing outside the polling station - imagine that!!!

Thanks to social distancing? Slightly odd situation at the polling station this morning where the combination of queue management and alphabetical street split meant that several folks from the retirement home across the road were able to get in ahead of those of us with street names at the end of the alphabet. The arrangements for in front door/out back door rather fell apart with the first demographic as the back door and route back to the front of the building and site exit wasn't suitable for wheelchairs or those needing walking aids, so the doorkeeper was kept on his toes to move those waiting to come in out of the way of those having to come out the "wrong" way. Never mind, at that time it wasn't raining and the line was moving fairly quickly - not so much fun later on once the rain started I would think.
Risk of frost tonight again, but tomorrow should be mostly dry if cold. Saturday does not look good for work - high winds, heavy rain and perishing cold, which will keep visitors away and make our mostly outside duties less than enjoyable. Fingers crossed that might change a bit - just losing the rain for the middle of the day would be good.

Sunny but cold when I went. Only the PACC to vote for here. I had forgotten it was a PR vote. I hesitated to offer a second preference to a candidate from one of the 3 'big; parties, my first preference going to an independent retired police officer.

Another VERY cold evening coming in. North wind doing a knife edge.
