Stunningly bright and sunny here, but cold.
Phone says 0C, feels like 1C.
No frost on cars, roofs, or the meadow, but the garden pond has frozen over.
Hoping it will be warm enough to sit out front in the sunshine for a cup of coffee later.

The sun is beginning to appear, and last night's frosty snow coating on the cars had gone by 8am so no problems for those needing to get going. Not nearly so windy which should help with temperature - and also mean I can get washing on the line and expect it to stay there.

In its more frequently sluggish meanderings of recent years, one could say "yes" - but behind that there are causes thought to be inseparable from climate change.

Tonight's temperatures are expected to go far below freezing everywhere - in fact I wouldn't be surprised to hear of records for April being broken - and it's not over with, as another arctic plunge is predicted for Friday and the weekend. So, don't put those tender plants out yet.

In fact minimum temperature records were broken in a number of places in the SE last night, locally: - 7.5 C in Oxfordshire. Even the centre of London experienced a frost. Here it went down to - 3 C; it was still sub-zero when I went for my second jab at 8.50.

Plenty of sun this afternoon and although the wind is cold conditions have been noticeably less perishing than yesterday - staying above freezing even with the windchill factor.
