A very very bright early morning, of the don't look east kind, but cloud has been moving in since so I had better get a move on and out into the garden. Rain is forecast later, but hopefully it'll hold off until the end of the afternoon.
Should be dry with plenty of sun and not quite so windy today, but still not exactly mild. On which subject I have been sorting through some old diaries and came across references to overnight temperatures between -1 and -7 over the first 10 days of March 2010 - recorded in the shed on my allotment.
Second shower of the day as a NW/SE aligned convergence line tracks down from the E Midlands - a classic example, in this instance of nor-westerlies cutting into nor-nor-westerlies to the east in advance of a weak warm front crossing the country from the NW tonight, which should raise tomorrow's temperatures. Some of this rain is almost in the heavy category - and this is pegging temperatures down to averaging about 7 degrees. This should have been accounted for by the forecasters, but appears not to have been.
