No snow here but it’s either raining, or sunny . If it gets mild, it rains, if it gets cold, it’s sunny with a frost!

There were some astonishing scenes of London snow-blanketted from yesterday on the BBC weather site earlier on, including a cloud formation as the snow belt approached which was so striking - udder-like bosses in the altostratus cloud base known as mamma or mammatus, more normally associated with severe thunderstorms - I have photocopied it for my snap book of unusual cloud formations.

Minus 2 here last night, but 4 C now and rising, so we're well over the "snow line", temperature-wise!

A frost overnight, temperature rising slightly during the morning, lack of wind meant the damp didn't feel as cold as it might have. Discrepancy between Met Office and Beeb regarding rain arrival and quantity, and the maps are different regarding the current whereabouts of the rain clouds, so it's anyone's guess for now, although experience suggests Met is better bet. I've been out so it doesn't really matter which way it goes.

Dreary too.
I'm trying to work out what BBM was trying to type that got auto-corrected to epilepsy. Keep taking the tablets, BBM!
Very mild, and the murk is beginning to break up a bit. One pleasant side effect is that the scent of the Christmas box(Sarcococca) and Viburnum flowers is very much in evidence as soon as the back door is opened. It's been too cold to get the best effect up to now.
