Ditto. The Met and Beeb forecasts agree so I don't think there will be any sunny surprises like yesterday. Very mild.

"Spanish Plume" conditions are written into the cloud formations and heavy "heatwave" feel to the humid air today - almost unprecedented this late in the year, though one s'poses we are likely to be in for more and more of these seasonal anomalies as climate change continues to warm things up.

So: the possibility is for - (I can't quite believe I'm writing this on November 9th !) - elevated thunderstorms breaking out on the passing occlusion this afternoon and evening, mainly in the south and south-east. Should there materialise I'll report back. Something similar (but more severe) is currently underway across the US Midwest.

I think that we will have some rain later, for a change. Bright blue skies earlier but ominous clouds are gradually forming.

Currently wall to wall and floor to ceiling murk - very poor visibility. The forecast suggests some clearing later, nice if it happens, and continuing mild, although getting cooler.

Puffy cumulus mediocris now forming in the moist mild sou'westerly. Without forcing (such as yesterday afternoon's convergence line) will there be enough warmth from below to generate showers out of them? that is the question. Nice clear air, though.

Washing is out. Grey, overcast and with minor drizzly intrusions. Humid, but hopefully windy enough to get it dry
