Fog cleared quite rapidly over London this morning, to reveal a beautiful quasi-mackerel sky layer of altocumulus, stretched across the sky from horizons east to west.

Weather charts for the next 3-4 days would have given us all blistering heat, had they been 2 or 3 months ago. What a waste of a good synoptic situation!!!

Beautiful mellow autumnal weather in these parts today. Took my afternoon walk in Crystal Palace Park; the place was just full of strollers, individuals and groups roughly averaging every 20 yards along the various paths, so one had to resort to evasive action wherever possible.

Sunny from the start, hardly any wind, and mild - to the point I had to unbutton my coat on the way back from town. All in all a lovely day to be out.
Sadly I guess that means Draco probably didn't have good weather today ...

Third day of fog/mist here.
It never cleared yesterday, but is raining too today, so the fog just might disperse and the day get brighter later.
I hope so, as a trip/walk to the local Coop to take advantage of my membership offers before they expire at midnight might then be worthwhile.

Likewise here: temperature reached a very close 16 C this afternoon, bringing out the scent of the roses to an unusual degree for November. Leaves from one of our Cotinus bushes form a psychedelic kaleidoscope on the pavement beyond our low perimeter wall.

Just before midday the sun suddenly appeared and although it got a bit veiled later all in all it was a very pleasant afternoon.
Each year I am delighted by the way the purple cotinus turns its veins bonfire colour some time before the leaves change completely. The neat simple lines against the purple background are quite something and don't look quite real.
