10/10 thick grey stratocumulus gloom all day here, holding temps down to 13 C max - one degree up on the past 2 days. At least it has been dry, and the wind has dropped somewhat. All of which has not detracted from the huge attraction of the nearby woods to family groups and courting couples ever since Covid-19 got underway in March. Up till then I often had the entire expanse of woodland from here to the South Circular all to myself: today it was a hard job finding detours from main pathways to avoid close contacts that didn't involve getting caught up in brambles!

Tomorrow they are promising 18-19 degrees C for the area; next week's weather looks pretty grim otherwise, with the Atlantic jet well in charge and relentless.

Bin lovely here again, Walter Wall sunshine, and even the cool northern breeze has dropped off. Perfect for autumn garden tidying.
I could do with not too much rain for the back end of next week, if you could oblige please , S-A .........

I'm afraid fear you need to go to a higher authority, TS!

Grey, still, bracing for end of week nastiness.

Yes, at LAST the sun! And it's still quite warm in it, albeit cool in the shade (13 C at 12 noon). I might just take a foray this afternoon - make the most of it before the weather "deteriates", as so many people say. Next weekend looks absolutely awful, though some are saying the deep low coming up from France, and predicted as being centred over London on Saturday, might just stay over the continent, placing GB in a "col" between it and another low to the NW of Scotland. Whichever way, with the transatlantic jet vigorous and following an unseasonably southerly route, active lows are going to be around and crossing the country from Wednesday onwards. I would go for the latter if it were on offer!

12C here, quiet, grey, crouched for the week-ending blast.

Well, hopefully it has now cleared up for you as well, BBM! - clammy but at least it's warm.

Today we have to make the most of it; tomorrow morning it turns very wet in the west, and then the east as a strong cold front moves east across the entire country. Thursday promises some respite before the weekend onslaught: looking at the choice of low pressure pathways on offer is scary, frankly.

When I set out on my walk it was very nice, warm and sunny. On the way back from the town centre the sun had gone in but it was still warm.

Glorious here: bright blue sky, and hot!

Very little air movement now, with slow-moving large cumulus clouds piling up all around suggesting heavy showers in the offing, although surprisingly none were mentioned in the forecast just now, common though showers are in the dead, still warm surface air behind slow-retreating cold fronts. So - taking a risk - it's off now to the nearest St Sprees 3/4 of a mile away for necessities to carry me through to Friday, when I envisage a wind-buffetting early morning walk through heavy rain to the same branch.

Today, cold, wet, already windy and growing.
