Should be an ok day today. May even have a saunter somewhere!

Yesterday really was a beaut: I took myself and bike off along one of my favourite runs, albeit not stopping off, as I had intended, at the little snack place in Ladywell Park since it was crowded with people not doing social distancing or wearing face masks. I was joined, mid-way, by a friendly old bloke who wanted directions to Tower Bridge, where he was heading on his way home to West Ham. Fred was one of those eccentric strangers one sometimes has the enjoyment of meeting, and seemed to have an obsession about the cycle route number we were travelling along, wanting to alert me to other numbered routes - the numbering of which seemed to be the main point of travelling them! That said, he was eager to point out that this particular route went all the way down into Kent, and that he and his wife made frequent journeys the entire length of it.
Back home I was able to spend a couple of hours sunbathing - something I had intended doing this afternoon, though I now see that cloud has spread in - which probably means one of my floor mats, which I had given its annual scrub and dangled over the clothes line, will probably not dry out today, even though temperature's peaking at 23 C. Two more days of summer warmth - we have to make the best of them!

Cloudless but not that bright brilliant summer blue any longer: autumn certainly here.
A bit chilly, but just about warm enough to scamper off to the local pharmacy for my winter flu jab in a short-sleeved shirt and no sweater/jacket.
No news about these from the GP: heaven knows how they are planning to give them to all their patients.

I think I might head off into the Surrey/Kent hills in a few minutes. There's a nice little place that's re-opened where one can have tea & biscuits... hopefully not crowded!

Almost too warm here as well, largely due to very little wind, but I'm not going to complain. I haven't yet put away summer gardening togs so was able to make the most of the sun and glorious blue sky getting some more of a long narrow border tidied and cleared ready for a replant. Tomorrow should also be nice after morning murk has cleared apparently, with rain forecast for Wednesday. It would be helpful if that rain did come as things have got very dry again with the sun and wind but I'm not banking on it.
