Fair comment. The early releases of Windows 10 have been much improved upon, I reckon. I would not welcome a return to Windows 7. That said, it might take a while to trim one's installation of Windows 10 down to something that more suits personal requirements.

Same here! (I'm one of the 'awkward squad' for whom Summer ends on or around September the 21st).

Yesterday was pretty dreary (and cold) here.

          PS: It didn't last.

Clouded over now (10:20) as I've just hung the washing out.
And then it got better, and it has been glorious, if a wee bit breezy, since lunchtime.
Our swan family (see birds thread) got reunited as the RSPCA brought the adults and two youngsters back, all nicely cleaned up. They had not been able to catch the other youngster, who had retreated into the reeds, but it emerged, and seemed very happy to have the rest of the family back. The Environment Agency have cleaned the 'spillage' up after Yorkshire Water said that they wouldn't as they hadn't caused it, apparently!

Glorious and breezy - sounds like a good drying day. Here a cloudy morning followed by a beautiful breezy blue-skied afternoon.

Very sunny but with quite a strong, cool wind.

Really, BBM? Hasn't exceeded 18.5 C here today. Still, at least I'm now up and running on Windows 10, after a few hitches with its installation yesterday. After hanf an our's usage, I quite like the way it underlines words whose spelling it doesn't like with a red squiggle, drawing one's attention to a possible mistype.

The odd thing was having to re-register my forum name and password to get into the forum. I suppose that was to be expected, though.

Well, up here, a cutting easterly really blustery and taking no prisoners.

Pleased to see that Windows 10 is to your liking. The red squiggle sometimes appears when you don't expect it, and sometimes fails to appear when you think it might have. Be prepared for frequent updates!

I've only just discovered that Windows 10 has predictive text. It seems to be set to "off" by default and is to be found in Settings/Devices/Typing/Hardware keyboard. Not everyone likes such a thing - I do some of the time - but interesting to check it out.

Thanks G - I think I'll keep it trying to get me to spell all things American for the time being for my above reason, but maybe change my mind at some point.

A good day today, methinks. Sunny but windy too.

This has been the pattern here for the past few days. If it wasn't for the strong wind it would have been very pleasant indeed. As it is the wind has been ruinous, bringing the temperature right down and it's the same this morning yet again.

I'm constantly ignoring suggestions that I spell 'honour' or 'favourite' without a 'u'. Sometimes it also queries certain place names and proper nouns for no good reason.
