Rain arrived just before noon, so we just got our tennis in. Chilly breeze but pleasant enough for a leisurely mixed doubles.

Quite a significant thunderstorm event has occurred in the area between Southampton and Winchester in the past half hour, and it seems to be heading in our direction, with a large zone to the west and north-west of the M25 now reporting lightning. Any further news, and I will report back.

It's reached Slough and Eton now - from the almost straight line linking the trail, this is clearly happening along a cold front.

Massive cloudburst here around 4.00 pm.
Passed after an hour or so, and the rest of the day was sunny and pleasant.

Overnight mizzle, but today dry with a non-stop hint of rain....BUT the biggest 'news' is the temp drop! And a powerful NE wind-chill.

Once again I set off on a walk around 11:45 and once again it starts raining, this time very heavily - though the heavy rain only lasted 15 minutes or so.

A fair bit of rain at the beginning of the night, but dry thereafter and so far today. Overcast and blooming chilly - no hardship to put a waterproof jacket on for walking into town. More rain forecast for later this afternoon which stands a fair chance of actually happening given the current location of the rainclouds, and the wind direction. Coolth not so welcome but the rain is still sorely needed here so long as it isn't torrential.

Well, here, it is 8C as I post, with a boisterous NE wind - sun, yes and some cloud, but the COLD is what strikes the attention.
