There was a hefty downpour at some point during the night - it half woke me as it clattered on the window and front door(a nasty plastic thing that always sounds as it it's being attacked when heavy rain blows on it), but the strong wind has dried much of it up by morning. Much cooler especially in the 'breeze' which is forecast to stay a factor for the next couple of days at least. Sheet washing will be delayed until I can put them out without risk of danger to the rotary drier, but a load of smaller things is currently in the washer and should dry well if they don't get too tangled.

Interesting test today of the comparative merits of the three weather forecast apps I use. The Met Office and the Norwegian yr.no apps have often been good at anticipating showers, but today both doggedly insist it’s sunny intervals and virtually no chance of “precipitation”. It was amusing reading that while watching it precipitating like billy-oh about 14.15 and again just now.
Unusually only the BBC weather app got it dead right, predicting showers till late afternoon.
Windy too here, with the downpours...
Over the past couple of years, the BBC app has trailed a distant third in the accuracy stakes; perhaps they are getting their act together. The Norwegians have often been the most accurate in the past."...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Well, I can totally reassure you that www.yr.no has got it EXACTLY right up here - non-stop rain was forecast and mighty winds.........and boy, is that what we've got or what.........
...AND, miserabile dictu, it is what they are predicting up here for the next 48 hrs minimum.
This would be bad in mid-late October, but June.......????

Yep, utterly, utterly vile up here with a damp penetrating cold. Temp at the mo 10C
Hollyhocks. tree lilies, roses flattened overnight.
BBC forecaster smiles at us and says it'll be breezy...............Well, if that's 'breezy', I hope we don't ever get a wind.Last edited by DracoM; 29-06-20, 10:58.

Tea in the garden with a friend postponed due to the heat last week doesn't look that possible for the next 2 or 3 days as it's now too cold to sit out( one can see the point of summerhouses in such circumstances) - strange days.
