There a very slight chance, very very slight indeed, of showers or thundery rain for the south during Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Other than that I see no precipitation anywhere on the horizon, I fear - you have to go down to the Med for any decent rain, or, more particularly to the Balkan region, which seems to be beset by constant thunderstorms at the moment. Winds for this part of the world go around to the north after Wednesday, remaining in that quadrant for the forseeable, which means a return to cool dry days and cold nights.
I was wondering whether the contrails might be from Wizz Air flights out of Luton.

Don't know where they're coming from, but they're heading out over the North Sea, and there have been dozens of them. Each time I've looked out there have been 4 to 6 in the sky, which has now gone pale blue. So, not only deteriorating air quality at ground level with the traffic having increased significantly, but also up high. I would like to think here is another explanation for the change in sky colour but I don't think there is, or at least not at that height and so uniformly. I regret now that I didn't take a photo this morning when I first noticed it changing.
So depressing to lose the 'good bits'(lack of traffic and noise, clear skies etc) of the crisis, so to speak, and just be left with the muddle, worry and distress.

Lot of motorbikes out round here as well, fortunately mostly in pairs rather than groups and not too many noisy ones.
Would have got very hot today I think if not for the easterly wind, and those who went to the coast would have found it distinctly fresh temperature-wise.

A lot of idiots descended onto the beaches and left the usual piles of litter everywhere yesterday! Why oh why are there so many ignorant people around?

However, it looks like it’s going to be a good day today.

Warm sun, BUT steady easterly winds possible presage something less soothing later?

People around here have been commenting on the change to a sense of no responsibility for personal actions in the week since Cummings' departure from the regs. Maybe I'm a bit thick - (well, there's little doubt about that!) - but why does one Very (self)Important person breaking the rules give carte blanche for not particulary important people to just do as they like? What am I missing out on?? I just don't get it!

Make the most of today and tomorrow, because from Wednesday we lose the high temperatures and record-breaking sunshine rates for something much cooler and a bit more unsettled, as winds once more come down from the north. The official forecasters are predicting some rain, but coming in uncertain quantities and not easily predictable distribution. Will those "blue blobs" expected on Wednesday pass to the west of us?

... yep, the BBC are currently offering a 36% chance of 'light showers' for west London for Wednesday afternoon. I wd prefer 100% chance of 'serious rain', perhaps ideally overnight...

                                Bit difficult to interpret IMHO.
