Blooming cold today - and not due to the wind for once. It was actually most disconcerting - a feeling that the air was just frigid, and the sun had minimal effect, although its absence for much of the morning didn't help. In the afternoon the sun had more effect, but still it was a mere veneer - and a thin one at that. The sky has cleared and the breeze is dropping right away - cue frosty night although with luck the change in wind direction might help to reduce the extent of the risk.

Ah yes, very succinctly observed JK chap!

Another good day, the weather looks like. I’m pretty sure it will be warm enough for a gander outside(Joseph K? )

The goose will presumably stay indoors?

www.yr.no predicts a tiny dribble on Sunday if we are lucky.
                  Not holding my breath.
Dry here - and I do mean DRY - since before the end of April, coupled largely with pretty cutting easterly and N.easterly winds, which have reduced soil to a grey dust on a concrete hard base..

Not sure where "here" is for you but no rain at all predicted here (N Wilts) by Met Office for the next seven days. Luckily soil is still moist from recent good rain and temp is predicted to rise day by day with 22C next Wed.

Temp at 12.30 10C., almost no wind. Pleasant, but for us, no rain for literally weeks.

There was a bloke where I once worked called Joe King. People would come up and say to him, "You must be Joe King"!

There was a sensible request a while back for contributors to this thread to add Location info to their profile, Draco.
Many of us, but clearly not all, know where you live!

By the way: how's the email situation coming along?
Hope you got something sorted and that you can now access your BT mail, even if you also have had to get a different account elsewhere to do so.

Of the two occasions I've been to the Lakes, on the first the mountain tops were invisible for the whole fortnight - what a wasted holiday! for the second, not a cloud in the sky for the entire week. That second visit was at this time of the year, with a gentle north-easterly drying and heating air that had passed over the Pennines by compression, (known as the Föhn Effect), bringing temperatures up to 25 C, while on the north-east coast from Edinburgh down to Kings Lynn the temperature didn't rise above 8 C, and it was clouding the whole time. Quite commonly the mid-spring period is when Scotland, the Western Isles and Lake District get their best weather of the year, which also happens to be the best weather anywhere in the UK.

Incredibly beautiful photo shot taken from by the Thames at first light this morning near Twickenham, from today's BBC online forecast.
