Clouding up fast from west, the odd tiny sprinkle, temp ? 4 p.m. c 15C, more than warm enough for shirtsleeves. Looks Like rain...

................then, suddenly, the cloud cover - it all went away, and we're back to a cloudless later evening....!!

But having watered daily, I am amazed at how dry and dusty every pot and plot is, so it's back to heavy watering tonight!

It got properly warm today, a nice change not to have the niggling cold wind. Short sleeves for gardening. Pot watering needed although the garden is still OK after the recent rain.

This evening, following the collective clap for NHS and keyworkers, we were all trying to figure out how to reach the balcony belonging to the couple away on lockdown in their cottage in Sussex, in order to water their planters, now full of rapidly dessicating pellargoniums.

Milky sky, sun with faint halo arouind it, some weak elevated convection detectable - not supposed to be happening! I see lightning has just occurred off the tip of Land's End.

Only 3 in the local St Sprees queue at 8 this morning! Asked why this might be, the gruff man employed to police the queues said it must be down to the Bank Holiday having been transferred to today, so maybe people thought the store would be be closed; but the chap upstairs says they never close on bank holidays!

Anyways, we were all in together: key worker, young black guy with heavy black face mask, and old grumpy (me!) No tinned sild in tomato sauce available but otherwise everything I needed. Back home by 8.30. Congratulations, Mr Sainsbury!

Rain? Huh! Fat chance - thick atmosphere - but the rain promised? Believe it when I feel it.
                BUT
on yr.no, they are predicting NO rain for another week, with temps getting down to middle single figures for daytime towards the end of the week. And easterlies.

Similar here. The low temperatures at night are frustrating as I would really like to get my French beans planted out - their current pots are just about too small, but I don't really want to have to repot especially as compost is still not that easily come by. Thing is they are part of my share out from the Heritage Seed Library so I have to be careful as one only gets a few seeds.
Today is summer - temporarily! It was close to 25 degrees at 8-30 am according to the shade thermometer by the back door, morning tea on the patio was a lizard(basking in the sun) experience but got too hot and the sun too bright to stay out for any length of time. Close to 30 now on thermometer. 'Easing of lockdown' will be in full swing today methinks...
It will make the change next week even more marked, and I think I will have to see about getting some more wood ordered in for the stove - if the company is still working at the moment. I don't really need the CH on for chilly evenings now but having the stove on at the end of the day makes things much more comfortable physically and mentally - watching the flames is very soothing.

Quieter down here Draco. Although, as forecasted not as warm as it happens.

Started of as a beautiful sunny morning. The grey curtain has now reached us.

Tropical rain without the temperatures. It sounded like a couple of inches fell in the night

The decline has begun, temperatures heading down - could see midday today significantly colder than midnight last night - wind flexing its muscles. There is the possibility of rain later today, that'll be nice given the projected windspeeds...Definitely get the shopping this morning I think.
The rising moon last night was a sight - enormous orange globe hovering above the trees, making the streetlights look a bit puny.

Nowt to beat it. And you can supplement your wood supply by skip-diving if push comes to shove.
