And what clarity: deep Walter Wall blue!!! Thios comes courtesy a new high, that's begun building up to the NE, and hasn't yet had time to accumulate enough pollution beneath its inversion to spoil things visibility-wise. We don't often get to see so far in such detail, here in London - comparatively low traffic levels probably help, too!

I bet the view from Parliament Hill Fields is pretty spectacular under these conditions!

Yes - you'd be able to see the Crystal Palace mast easily from there!

Know what you mean Draco! It was cloudy for much of the morning which didn't help but even when the sun did manage to break through around lunchtime it was not a signal to stand around soaking it up. Gardening at about 3 pm required layers. Frost is on the cards tonight so I must go and put my tender veg under cover - very glad I've still got room on my windowsills for the tomatoes, so it's just things like french beans to protect outside.

The hardiness tends to improve with age - its the new young bits that get frosted. I have one of the tall fuchsias at the bottom of the garden( Hawkshead, with elegant dangly white flowers to light up a dark spot). It's quite a woody shrub now but the early growth at the tips of twigs got clobbered a few weeks ago with a particularly vicious frost we had, compounded by the dratted easterly wind. It's recovered now and looks normal after a bit of judicious editing of the very top growth.
Hope your little ones survive Draco - it was indeed cold here last night(zero on the thermometer by the back door) with ice on the birdbath next to the pop-up growhouse - just as well I put the beans inside and closed it up!
Today has been sunny from the start and is forecast to continue that way. The wind is less 'brisk' so with any luck it will be a bit warmer. More gardening, good for mental well-being. Wednesdays are when I should be doing volunteer gardening so I try and make sure I get something done even if it isn't in the 'right' garden.

Pretty much as good as yesterday, with just a handful of fair weather cumulus around midday, which have since dispersed completely, and although temperatures still a bit on the cool side, maxing out at just 15 C on the north-facing wall, this happens to be the average daytime maximum for early May. Should be warm enough for a spot of sunbathing on the south-west side lawn of our T-shaped 1950s block.

People are still remarkably good-humoured out on the streets, patiently queuing for their goods and acknowledging the counter staff and security. Yesterday I accidentally headbutted a perspex counter protecting shield at another Tescos in West Norwood, not having noticed it had been installed!

Stunning day up here - pity about lockdown, eh?

Close to perfect here, and looking set fair. Hopefully all of those who are currently working will get to enjoy some of it.

Mind you, as I am in shielded mode, that’s about it fir me, until things change.

                          Another good day, I hope!

Cloudless, still air, blossom, mighty leaf everywhere. What a Spring this is!

Some heavy rain overnight but now sunny and clear blue sky.

Very much warmer than yesterday - 19C at noon - still sunny, but poorer air quality. I think it'll reach 21C easily this afternoon.
