Yesterday we managed to miss the thundery rain, which passed mostly to the west during the evening, apart from very large drops falling so copiously just before midnight I thought it must be hail, and the only surprise was it didn't thunder. Today nondescript grey stratocumulus over poor visibility, light winds and a slightly oppressive feel. Maximum temp 15 C. I need a couple of medium-sized pot plants for my mini pseudo Japanese garden, now mostly cleared of Nigella and Aquilegia to reveal my choice selection of pebbles - which plants to go for is always based on what's available at time of shopping, but both my regular plant nurseries on this particular walk are now closed - I really don't understand this: OK the walkways in these places dont leave room for regulation 2 metre passing, but there are plenty of them to allow alternative routes, and it's out in the open.

Cloudless, BUT as the day wore on, the east-south-easterly has risen in blustering intensity and is rattling the roof up here.
And forecast to continue like this for the next few days - maybe even most of the week.
And NO rain is forecast for here either.
Evening 'exercise' walk a real fight back against the wind banging across the Dales ridges and predating on west-facing communities.

High pollen levels being force fed to susceptible membranes didn't add anything positive to the experience, but at least things should stay alive for now.

Beautiful, albeit windy today. Green trees too.
