Thanks BBM Stormy Weather indeed. We've got off quite lightly so far, losing just a couple of panes of glass from the greenhouse. To be replaced with polycarbonate sheets. It's an ill wind. Feels unhealthy in bioweather terms. Just not cold enough. Also makes it hard to plan anything because events are likely to get called off at short notice.
No problem. Always very tenable as far as organising anything in themes like these.
A lovely but cold day today here.

Rain, rain again. When will we have a day without it?
You might be just far north enough to miss Thursday's dollop, which is expected to spread right across the south, leaving Scotland with the showers and the bit between in meteorological no-man's-land. The next big dollop for everyone comes on Friday, extending through the weekend. Inhabitants bordering the Severn must be rejoicing at that prospect!
It's just about to deluge here - the Shard, London Eye etc disappearing behind a curtain of rain, and probably hail too.
Long rumble of thunder from that shower, not surprisingly, but it came from the East Ham/Ilford area, after the main part of the cell had passed over here. Spectacular cloud forms in the rear of the anvil cloud, picked out in vivid oranges and pinks. The temperature would probably have fallen far enough in the core for that precipitation to have turned to snow for a time - here it has dropped from 6 C to 3.5 C, and that wind being sucked into the rear of the storm feels very raw indeed!
More lightning right now at the multilevelled A12/M25 interchange!
This will annoy those in already flooded areas, but the most interesting thing about tomorrow's weather in relation to the depression tracking east across northern France is just how far south snow will be falling. At the moment, precipitation is expected to be of the rainy type as it moves north into the cold air already the whole country, with cold rain falling into nighttime temperatures of 2-3 C in the south, and then converting to snow as it hits subzero temperatures across south Wales and the south Midlands. And then, some of that snow will transfer south-east to reach the ground in parts of the SE during the morning, especially elevated areas, before petering out in London by midday. I shall be on the lookout for blobs of snow making it through to ground level through the rain. The heavier the rain, the more likely it is to "get through" as the air at ground level is cooled from aloft.
Fantastic early Spring day now. Cold, but brilliant sun!!
That's good to hear Draco - heaven knows you deserve a break from the crud that's been visited on you of late.
It's been good and sunny here too although the wind made the volunteer gardening more worthy than usual - finding the cracks in clothing and inserting freezing fingers.

We have rain! Supposed to be clearing at lunchtime.
