Its been pretty wild down here since late last night.
The wind put paid to our old plastic shed, which was in badly need of replacement anyway. If that’s the only damage, I’ll be happy enough.
Right now we are down to a stiff breeze and the odd very sharp gust. Hoping it will all fade away now, but the BBC site has us in for another 24 hours of the strong stuff.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

Our boiler is on the blink!

Cold but looking good outside. We will be having showers later! Groan!

A bright morning, but still very windy, and the temperature has plummeted so dealing with the problems in the garden is going to be a wrap-up warm job. Showers due at the end of the afternoon, just when I have to walk to town for meetings - including one which will involve standing around outside...

I note from dairy that we had wildish weather up here same two or three days last year. Hmm
At the mo, grey, wild, dry but much threatening on horizon. Have even had some sun, but sure as heck none now!
No signs of snow - yet.

Snowing earlier on, turned to sleet now. V. windy. Road flooded in Ormskirk where my friend lives.

Dry most this morning, then late morning it started lashing it down, then about an hour ago it stopped and the sun came out. Just returned from a pleasant walk with mother and niece.

A sunny but windy morning. Now it's snowing heavily which wasn't in the forecast at all!

That figures. It started sleeting here a while ago so I reckoned snow was possible for Midland counties northwards. Glad I got out to deal with the garden this morning when it was sunny and dry.

There are signs of another repeat of yesterday next weekend - I'm afraid we're stuck with this until the tropical jet stream flowing up against the cold of the American hinterland breaks and then re-aligns its route to cross that continent.

                            Postscript
Temperature has fallen 5 degs to 5C during showers in the past hour, with no let-up in the wind. A couple of lightning flashes recorded in the northern suburbs of the Metropolis, but too far away for audible thunder at this distance.

Horizontal snow with a bin lorry working its way down the road.

                                Temp up here 2C.
                                Trying to sleet / snow.
And, wow, is it COLD or what - with a driving, driving malevolent wind.

                                ..............and now, TORRENTIAL rain.
                                But still thinking......................
