I can't see them from here, either!

Still pretty cloudless here, sky reddening; probably a cold night in prospect.
My first ever visit to a mosque tomorrow, with the Year 5 group from school.
Walking in a crocodile along the cycle path might be a slithery experience if it's icy!

It's surprising what difference a small distance can make in winter - in my case from still frost-covered pathways in a number of north-facing hollows not reached by todays sun, to South Norwood Park, with its sloping southern aspect, where no ice whatever had formed on the lake, and people were enjoying afternoon snacks and cuppas from the nearby hut in warm sunshine, albeit well wrapped. I think everyone's right about tonight's cold: with the wind now dropped out entirely I envisage temperatures even here falling to minus 3 celsius at least, though with the atmosphere clear and dry - the afternoon's views seemed to go on forever - I won't be expecting any fog.

Amazing change in a few minutes.
Weather front arriving from the south.
Wish I could photograph it and post it.
Horizon there still cloudless and red/pink.
        Grey edge of cloud.
Lighter small clouds underneath that layer, reflecting the light somehow and appearing pink.
Quite magical, rather like a theatre/opera set backdrop that you wouldn't quite believe possible.

Slightly murky first thing but quickly cleared to another brilliant day. It got cold overnight but the temperature rose in the early hours and later, where the sun hit, any frost soon cleared. A clear sky so cold again tonight but the slightly hazy edges suggest that it won't be a bright morning to begin with tomorrow.

A heavy frost last night, gave way to a most gorgeous, almost spring like day today. 72F!

Is that inside your version of the tropical greenhouse at Kew, BBM?

It's more like 4 C on my north-facing wall at the mo. Went down to minus 2 here last night.

It's remained close to freezing all day here, and the bottom of the garden has had frost added to what was there yesterday - good thing I hadn't planned to do anymore to the compost relocation project, it would have been very heavy work, and I'm not a fan of burying frozen matter, it just slows everything down. With little to no air movement it was very pleasant in the sun, and noticeable how much such conditions improve the general mood of those out and about.
Tomorrow looks as if it will be grey and damp, but I'm hoping to be able to get started on the volunteer gardening again. There will be yet more leaves to clear, to allow bulbs to emerge, and probably quite a bit of other tree detritus to remove after the recent high winds.

Thick fog, damp, drizzle - o something close to it - and cold.
Hardly anyone shopping on the street. Weird.

Cloudier start to the day - dawn temp 5 degrees, which had shifted the overnight frost, the another bright sunny day! The lighter evenings gradually growing with the fine weather and lovely sunset skies!

Another glorious day here with lots of sunshine (solar battery at full capacity), and another chilly night in prospect. Cycled (well wrapped up!) across town last night to choir Committee meeting, partly to be able to have a drink (probably still not that wise!) but mainly as it's uneconomic/wasteful to use the car and wait for it to warm up for a relatively short journey (actually further by car, as you can cycle through town past the minster, which I love doing when it's lit up at night). Nice sunset again, too, though not the dramatic cloud formation of the other day.

I too went cycling - this afternoon, given that cloudy conditions are expected to predominate for the forseeable future. It is still a little early for those enjoyable runs that come with springtime - the low-slung sun (low-slung-sun ) gets in the eyes for at least half of the journeys I make, which can be quite dangerous as it is also in the eyes of motorists competing for one's road space, and is in any case close to setting by mid afternoon teatime. By which time even my wooly gloves were not enough to keep the chilliness today from biting at my fingertips. All that said, the landscape of the wilderness areas I cycle through - and yes, there are quite a few, even in London - has its own beauties in the middle of winter.

They've been experiencing almost non-stop intense thunderstorms down in eastern Spain for the past 3 days now from a nearly stationary frontal system marking the meeting of cold air from northern Europe and hot air from the Sahara. I think we'll be hearing more of this on the news unless Megxit goes on occupying all world events: huge rainfall amounts along the costas Brava and del Sol, with heavy snowfall inland, and they're getting particularly hard hit in the Balearics, so to speak........

Morning mist (not dense enough to be fog) today: looks decidedly chilly.
Pleased I can walk to school (takes less than 10 minutes) and not drive.
                                Division by 10, 100, and 1000 today.
I'm not sure why this is such a difficult concept for some of the pupils.
I was taught to hop the decimal point along, but now they are told to slide the numbers!

                                PS: Mist cleared already!
