No sunrise here, glorious or otherwise, just a grudging lightening of the sky. Wet and windy, although mild. Trouble is the damp and gloom mean that in the house the subjective thermometer says it's chilly, even though the objective one says not.
Stormy Weather II

Low raggedy cloud trundling across, visiblity varying as periodic spasms of drizzle pass through - wind is getting up, as expected, and one or two heavy showers on the way I expect. Teamsaint is right to an extent - Sunday shouldn't be too bad after some heavyish frontal rain has passed through first thing in the morning; there could be a shower or two around, but mostly affecting southern and western coasts down here. Monday into Tuesday looks set for some stormy weather, especially for England, N Ireland and Wales, with Scotland in colder air, which will spread right across on Monday into Tuesday. But from then on the predictions are for a buoyant normal December temperatures westerly type, with election day turning wet from the west during the afternoon and evening.

It looks likely we're all in for a roller-coaster of a week weatherwise - particularly bad gales this afternoon and tonight for Wales and the SW, and everywhere, just about, on Tuesday. This pattern looks set right up to Christmas - no snow expected, apart from on the peaks in Wales and Scotland.

Bright, breezy and dry today, and not too cold thanks to the wind direction. Managed to get two loads of washing out with a useful amount of drying accomplished. Monday looks set to be parky but bright so I think I'll take advantage of a rearranged Monday schedule and go into the city; there is a local artists exhibition to look round, and a small hearthrug to look for. Time was I would have gone into the excellent record shop and found myself a christmas present as well, but - ususal story - that closed due to increased costs and decreased demand.
