Cold last night although not quite freezing, and a glorious sunny day until mid-afternoon today when it got a bit iffy and damp, but has cleared away again to palest blue sky with pretty, small, scattered clouds. Friday is not looking appealing.

      Remember I wrote this?

Wonderful virtually cloudless [so far] day, warm sun, fantastic autumn colours, briskish westerly...what's not to love!
      Caveat: erm......so far!!

      Remember SA's warnings?

He was dead right. Pouring down here!

Been raining but I think will have a break from this. May have more rain and a thunderstorm thrown in for good measure !

We had a thunderstorm here yesterday evening. I wa making my way by bike to a local history group gathering, and what had been a few spots of rain suddenly turned into a deluge, forcing me to retreat, put on raincoat, and walk to the venue instead. Halfway there was a loud crack of thunder - I was sorry to have missed the lightning that would have preceded it by a matter of seconds, since my umbrella being up obscured it.

More showers today, but from ex-thunder clouds, so the rain has been comparatively light compared to yesterday's. All being well London should miss most if not all tomorrow's showers, being in a "rain shadow" caused by the low pressure relocating to be centred where the majority of shower activity is likely to occur in the north and west, and along the English Channel. Then on Sunday it looks like the east coast and Scotland will suffer the brunt of any shower activity as the low moves over the North Sea and on to Scandinavia, and a ridge of high pressure nudges in from the west to give us all 3 or 4 days of dry, fairly sunny weather, albeit with colder nights: expect ground frost in sheltered valleys wherever you are.

Yes, a ridge of high pressure! - we haven't had one of those since the beginning of the month. Mind you, it isn't expected to hold for long, with the unsettled breezy westerly pattern returning during the second half of next week.

SA, we did too. Had the blinds down at the time. Certainly heard it. We seem to be having a break. The trouble is me and MrsBBM, have colds right now. MrsBBM is getting over here but I caught mine off her, so a couple of days behind!

I really should have got out on what has been a really lovely day today instead of staying home to track the Parliamentary shenanigans on the radio. GMT will soon be back, restricting afternoon outings.

Nice dry start, but now, a genuinely nasty, and in-the-bone cold NW with rain in it every so often.
www.yr.no says 8C - but here it feels like 4-6C just about.

Nice bright autumn day here, just a touch on the cool side.

Pleasant enough to sit outside for 20 mins this evening with a small glass of red, to enjoy the last of the light, and a good point for the super Saints.

The older I get, the more difficulty I have acclimatizing as temperatures fall at this time of year. I have managed so far to keep the central heating off.

Since my illness, I’ve been feeling temperature changes quite a bit. Today is no exception. Certainly I think it’s colder.

Looks like it will be a good day here today - sunshine, some cloud but a good share of blue sky and the forecast of no rain - that’ll be a change! Not tropical however!
